Essay
Below is a step by step design prototype of my U.C application on an iPhone.
1. App selected is chosen from the iPhone app menu environment.
2. Once the app has been selected, a Loading Page appears.
3. Once the app is fully loaded, the freedom is there to the user to learn more or skip and go straight to the next stage.
5. General rules of play to get the most of the users experience.
6. A breakdown of the tools available to the user when designing. Users are also introduced to the idea of the outcomes being a collaborative process due to the app itself supply everything, and potentially helping out to ignite potential design ideas.
7. Whether the user skips reading about the app itself, its mandatory that they agree to the terms and conditions. I placed the page at this point to fixate how the app is intended to be used on the designers end. The user has no option of going further until the rules set are agreed. Potentially, due to anyone being able to access this type of app, I therefore cover myself to assure there are no issues with non permitted images being used.
8. Once the user has agreed to the terms, the get started/ about me option are made available.
9. Option to import a picture from the camera roll or take a picture in the app.
10. If the user has selected to take a picture, a simple circle is placed at the bottom center with an animated indicator on where to press.
11. This is the first opportunity to be exposed to the editing mode, at this point the user has the option to create independently. When editing mode is first opened, the arrow on the bottom left hand side will begin to move, this means there's a notification from the app itself.

12. Once the notification is selected, some assistance/advice is given on how to use the app and some aspects of an image to potentially hone in on.
13. Once the designing has begun, the arrow in the corner shows once again that there's a notification.
14. The app has a colour recognition aspect, 3 of the coloured squares on the tool bar are sourced from the image being used in editing mode. These colours can be used once a tool has been selected.
15. The other coloured square once selected shows a generalized colour selection.
17/18. If you the notification is tapped, it gives the option to follow some tips that could potentially set further rules of play, or even inspire a ‘modern creative’.
19. With the potential rules being set, this could push the user to creating something that falls within 1 of the rules set from the designer, in this instance it was rule 1.

1. Follow the structure of the picture and add to it with a digital drawing.
20. At any point in the app, the arrow in the top corner can be tapped to exit from editing mode. After tapping this, the choice to export the design without the image itself is there, if not then the user can skip.
21. UC Extra allows users to see their design for exactly what it is, and the option to change the background colour.
22. If UC Extra has been used or skipped, the next step is to the final page of the app where you can either export the design to the devices camera roll or share it on a social platform.
Here are some other alternative designs that could be created in the app, using the rules of play that could be potentially followed by users.
16. When a tool is selected, the option of varied sizing also becomes available.
4. Background on the structure of the app, and how to go about using it to its full capability.
2. Make a pattern more noticeable or create one that you would not normally see.
3. Why don't you change the message of the image completely?
